Description
MICRO BOY™
The world's smallest console that actually plays.
2 inches tall. 0.8 ounces. Fully functional.

Hold it in a closed fist and it disappears.
Put it on your keyring and you'll forget it's there — it weighs less than four quarters. Less than the keys it's hanging from.
Then someone asks what it is, you press the power button, and the little screen glows to life with a game running on it. Watch their face. That moment is the entire product.
This is not a keychain that looks like a console. This is a console the size of a keychain.
Yes. It really plays.
Real screen. Real buttons. Real games. Real saves.
The display runs at 160 × 144 — the exact native resolution of the classic 8-bit handhelds. That number matters more than it sounds. It means every pixel maps 1:1, with no stretching, no smoothing, no smearing. Sprites land exactly where the original artists drew them. Text is sharp. Nothing gets interpolated into mush the way it does on cheap emulator boxes with mismatched screens.
It reads GB, GBC and NES format files from the included memory card, up to 8MB each — which covers essentially the entire 8-bit era.

The details that took real engineering
⌁ The buttons are deliberately wrong — and that's why it works.
The body is a true proportional scale-down, but the d-pad and face buttons are oversized against that scale on purpose. Shrink them faithfully and you'd have a beautiful object nobody over the age of six could play. Enlarged, they're clicky, findable by thumb-feel alone, and genuinely playable for a full session. It's the smartest decision in the whole design.
⌁ Charges off the cable you already own.
USB-C. Not micro-USB, not a proprietary cradle, not three AAAs rattling in a slot. Around three hours of continuous play per charge — more screen time than most people get on a cross-country flight without touching their phone battery.
⌁ Save anywhere. Resume anywhere.
Full in-cartridge battery saves, exactly the way the originals handled it. Plus modern instant save states — freeze mid-boss, pocket it, pull it out four days later and drop straight back into the same frame. No lost progress, ever.
⌁ Your library, your card.
A microSD card is included, and the slot means the library is entirely yours to curate. Load what you want, swap it out whenever, carry hundreds of files on something the size of a postage stamp.
⌁ Thirteen colorways. No two identical.
Solid black, blue, green, pink and red — or the translucents, where you can see straight through the shell to the board, the ribbon cable and the components inside. The clear green is the one that stops people mid-sentence.
Every shell is made by hand
This is the part most brands would hide. We'd rather lead with it.
Micro Boy shells aren't injection-molded by the hundred thousand. Each one is 3D-printed or cast, then finished by hand, one unit at a time. That means faint layer lines if you go looking, small variations in the translucent tint, occasional micro-differences in seam and edge from one unit to the next.

The gift problem, solved
You know the person. Had the original. Still talks about it. Impossible to shop for because they already own everything they want.
This costs less than dinner for two, ships in a box the size of a deck of cards, and gets a louder reaction than gifts costing ten times more — because nobody expects the tiny plastic keychain to turn on.
Questions
Is it a toy or a real console?
Real. Real screen, real processor, real button inputs, real save data. It's a functioning handheld that happens to be two inches tall.
Can adults actually play it?
Yes — that's exactly why the buttons are oversized relative to the body. Comfortable for a real session, not a ten-second novelty press.
Can I load my own files?
Yes. Standard microSD. Load whatever you like, swap cards freely.
Isn't the screen too small?
It's small — that's the entire point. But at 1:1 native resolution it's genuinely sharp rather than a blurry postage stamp, and it's built for exactly the moments you're standing in line at the DMV.
Does it charge like everything else I own?
USB-C. Same cable as your phone.
