About the Designer

Zak Rose launched his eponymous label in 2010 after seven years of woodworking in Chicago and San Francisco. He designs furniture with an eye for simple lines and functionality, using reclaimed materials whenever possible. Most recently, he has been exploring a combination of wood and metal, juxtaposing interesting solid wood with brightly colored steel details.

Zak is a member of Dock 6, a collective of fabricators, furniture-makers, and designers located in Chicago and his work can be found at Pauline Grace in River North and The Haymaker Shop in Andersonville. This fall, he will participate in the annual Design Harvest street festival in West Town on September 28 and 29 as well as Dock 6’s Design + Art 6 on October 4 and 5.
