Hollyhock House
Product Description
Aline Barnsdall commissioned Wright to build one of his greatest architectural achievements atop a hill in Hollywood, the “Hollyhock House,” in honor of her favorite flower. The geometric pattern found in this product represents the design detail Wright used in four of the home’s adjacent living room sidelights. Barnsdall asked that purple be used to match the color in Japanese screens she owned. The triangles that appear to dance around vertical stalks were designed to represent the flowers and leaves of the hollyhock plant. The Hollyhock House was one of the last structures in which Wright used art glass windows.
