About the Designer

Yi Liao and Yanko are Taiwanese designers. Before founding ystudio, they
worked together at another company and realized they shared the same design ethos. In their work together, they hope to remind people of the beautiful things that have been forgotten as time passes by. ystudio started to gain attention from their earliest product, the Camera Lamp, which is modified from an antique camera. In 2013, ystudio launched their first series of stationery, ”The Weight of Words,” and started to share their incredible vision of writing culture with the world. ystudio is from Taiwan, founded in 2012 to create contemporary Taiwanese design and traditional crafts, capturing the essence of local life and culture in Taiwan, both past and present. ystudio believes that the value of simplicity in design is very important and explores vanishing culture and production techniques to creating fine, lasting artifacts, inking memories with modern life.
