Wine Helix
Olive Wood Corkscrew
Product Description
The Wine Helix is a modern reinterpretation of the iconic, first patented corkscrew by the Rev. Samuel Henshall in 1795. Henshall's original patent incorporated a button between the shank and the corkscrew worm. The purpose was to compress and turn the cork once the corkscrew worm was fully inserted, thus breaking any bond that might exist between cork and bottle.
Made from stainless steel and Olive wood, the Wine Helix features a slightly tapered stainless steel stem with a stepped button terminating in a Tungsten worm. Easy to use, simply turn with a continuous clockwise action. Once the cork is loaded onto the corkscrew worm, simply continue to turn clockwise and pull upwards from the bottle. Each Wine Helix is individually handcrafted and presented in a black velvet drawstring bag complete with historically patent details.
