Product Description

This Alabama 2.5 Gallon Still is an all time best seller. It takes its name from the rich history of Alabama moonshining. The beauty and quality hand-craftsmanship of this still are unmatched.

A time honored tradition around the world, distilling is both an art and a science. For centuries, the best distillers have known that a copper still produces the highest quality water, essential oils, and more thanks to copper’s natural detoxifying properties. Plus, copper heats evenly and is easy to clean, and then of course there’s the smart look of its red-gold shine.

The Alabama 2.5 Gallon Still includes a built-in thermometer in the onion head. It's produced with extremely high quality, thick gauge copper, and soldered with 100% lead-free materials. Easy to assemble, disassemble, and move, this copper still includes everything you need to distill the best products at home.

FAQ
Does it come with recipes and instructions?

It doesn't have any recipes or instructions.

How do you make it?

It's only four pieces. You just place the onion dome on the pot and there is a connector to screw into the condenser. Thermometer screws into the dome. No hardware or tools required.

Does it come with recipes and instructions?

It does include instructions for the first time cleaning but no recipes or instructions otherwise.

Do you have to register the distiller or any part to the federal government?

No, but in order to sell alchohol you need a license.

Is the same onion head fits all different size models?

It does not. Each is a different size that works with that still.

What kind of solder did they use to make it?

The solder can vary, but it's 100% lead-free.

Can you make whiskey with this still, or just oil and water that you refer to?

You can definitely make whiskey or any other spirits with this still. Please note that distilling alcohol is only permissible with proof of a federal distillers permit. Consult your state laws in regards to owning a whiskey still and distilling your own spirits.

Is the exterior of the Distiller protected from oxidization or tarnish to maintain its beauty?

No, absolutely not, that's only done for decorative copper products. The varnish used on those products to keep them pretty makes them unsafe to distill with. A still used for distillations is going to oxidize and it needs to be cleaned with citric acid on the outside and water and vinegar on the inside to stay beautiful but over time a used still will go darker and that's the beauty of it.
