Black Seal
Product Description
Famous for being the first model created by the now legendary watchmaker Panerai, the Ref. 292 became the precursor to all of the brands future efforts. Originally crafted in 1938 and intended for Italian Navy Officers during World War II, this watch was named after the slow torpedoes, or “black seals,” that they were known to use. This piece has always stood out for it’s structure and extreme durability thanks to its winding crown and screwed on case-back. Its design was meant for excellent visibility even in the most extreme conditions.
The “Pam 292” is featured here in all it’s ceramic glory. Depicted in all black, it displays a clean, elegant look that is simple, yet dignified. With a black design and illuminated Arabic numerals and hour markers, the Black Seal also features a sapphire crystal casing complete with anti-reflective coating. It features a 45mm casing combined with the all black ceramic finish that makes it look smaller than it is. This lithographic print comes from a limited edition of 500 and is pressed in Long Island City, New York on 100lb FSC certified archival cover stock using the best Van Sons Elite soy based inks.
