Being able to start a fire is an essential outdoor skill. The Fire Starter 2.0 Starter Pack includes a ferrocerium (ferro) rod, a ceramic striker, and two types of synthetic kindling. It also includes a wire saw with canvas handles and a razor blade to help you cut and shave the dry kindling you need.

You can rely on the five waterproof Tinder Quick fire starting tabs or opt for the adhesive Pyro Putty to spark a fire in hot, cold, wet, and windy conditions. Build six fires with one half-ounce tin—a nickel-size amount will burn 6-10 minute. Standard issue for UK Special Forces, the included wire saw is made with five independent, tightly-woven stainless steel wires to provide 60 pounds of working strength. This saw easily gets to hard-to-reach areas to cut through wood, bone, and soft metals.
