In 1939, an Australian footwear institution was born when tennis legend Adrian Quist won the Davis Cup in a pair of borrowed boat shoes. Inspired, he took the shoes back to his job at the Dunlop Rubber Factory and went about creating a sneaker that combines a boat shoes’ unique herringbone grip on a sole built for tennis. Thus, the Volley was born, and became the tennis shoe of choice for a dynasty of Australian tennis champions. Comfort, grip and understated style made Volley as easy to wear on the court, to the beach, to festivals, to navigating the sometimes-slippery floors of a coffee shop.
