With over twenty years experience devoted to transparent instruments known as demonstrators, Visconti had the stimulus to produce a sapphire crystal watch, a show-piece that is only within the reach of only a handful of major watchmakers. The precious experience that Visconti’s engineers and designers have built up over twenty years has been crucial in resolving the numerous problems associated with such a complex watch as the 2Squared Crystal Demo Automatic. The watch case is carved from one single piece of crystal sapphire, the result is that you can see into the watch from every angle. Such a masterpiece could not make do with a standard commercial movement, so Visconti’s Swiss partners joined with our own engineers to create a demi-squelette, twin barrel Visconti calibre movement with a five-day power reserve and a retrograde calendar.
