Chicago O'Hare Airport Sign (Sign, Ohare)
Product Description
The Chicago O'Hare Airport station opened on September 3, 1984, as the terminus of an extension of the Blue Line from its former terminal at River Road. It was built to a design by the architectural firm Murphy/Jahn.
Why would we bring you subway signs? Well, for any designer/enthusiast—with a real appreciation for typography—these original subway signs have significant value. Found all throughout Chicago, your typical MTA sign is easy to take for granted, but in a more subjective way, these signs are some of the best examples of Helvetica in it's purest, most refined form. The Chicago O'Hara Airport sign is for all designers and aficionados who simply acknowledge and appreciate the beauty of Chicago's best typography at work.
