Product Description

23 Street/FIT Station was opened on July 1, 1918 and renovated in the 1990s. In the 1998 film Godzilla, this station was destroyed by Zilla and used as the entrance to the nesting ground inside Madison Square Garden.

Why would we bring you subway signs? Well, for any designer/enthusiastā€”with a real appreciation for typographyā€”these original subway signs have significant value. Found all throughout NYC, your typical station sign is easy to take for granted, but in a more subjective way, these signs are some of the best examples of Helvetica in it's purest, most refined form. The 23 Street-Fashion Institute of Technology Station sign is for all designers and aficionados who simply acknowledge and appreciate the beauty of New Yorks's best typography at work.
