Chicago // Red
Product Description
Chicago opened as part of the State Street Subway on October 17, 1943. It was identical in design to Grand to the south. From 2000 to 2001 the station was extensively renovated. Why would we bring you subway signs? Well, for any designer/enthusiast—with a real appreciation for typography—these original subway signs have significant value. Found all throughout the great city of Chicago, your typical MTA sign is easy to take for granted, but in a more subjective way, these signs are some of the best examples of Helvetica in it's purest, most refined form. This sign is for all design aficionados who simply acknowledge and appreciate the beauty of Chicago's best typography at work.
