Product Description

Turing Tumble is an interactive game for teaching code that works unlike anything else out there. It actually lets players see and feel how computers work, and code without getting bogged down by language syntax. It doesn’t even batteries or require a phone or tablet to operate.

Turing Tumble is a new type of game system, where players of almost any age can build mechanical computers powered by marbles to solve logic puzzles. Use ramps, crossovers, bits, interceptors, gears, and gear bits to build marble-powered computers that can generate patterns, do logic, count, add, subtract, multiply, divide, and much more.

Paul Boswell

Paul learned to program when he was just a kid in order to create his own computer games. He especially liked making games for graphing calculators
and then passing them around to other kids at school. He went on to get a PhD in Analytical Chemistry before becoming a professor at the University of Minnesota, where a National Institutes of Health grant and led a research group. The work was heavy on the programming/computational side, which made it hard to find students for the group, because programming is a rare skill among chemists and biologists - or just about anyone other than computer scientists. Paul spent a lot of time teaching his students how to program, and often saw other faculty and students pass up good research ideas because they couldn’t make software to do what they needed. So he decided to invent a simple, fun solution for teaching basic coding.
