Block is a desk lamp that will have you seeing the light, by incorporating hidden LEDs in a solid piece of hardwood – Maple or Walnut – perched on a concrete base. The design of the lamp and the placement of the LEDs allow for the brightness you need without raising the electricity bill. You can feel less guilty about leaving the light on... okay, just a little bit less guilty.

About the Designer
As a much younger gentleman, Fernando followed his contractor father around learning the ins and outs of building houses. Derek was designing and building ways to pick up a few scars by way of skateboard ramps. It was these foundations that would eventually lead Fernando into a graphic design career working for a large apparel company and Derek into the world of building molds at a 3D printing and rapid prototyping company. Fast forward to 2012 - the two were connected by mutual friends and set off on a journey that would infuse they’re ability to design and build with their love for both urban and rural environments to create an original brand of furniture. Tool+Bark is a cohesive blend of the geometry of the modern city life with the freedom of the outdoors. Having already been featured in The Globe and Mail, Ottawa Citizen, Moco Loco & other design blogs, Fernando and Derek continue to improve their handcrafted product line with the hopes of finding their way into homes and hearts.
