When Maison Tesseron decided to offer four blends - or four "lots" in the local vocabulary - of Cognacs in its name, symbolizing the four generations of Tesseron at the helm of the family business, it took up an internal practice of sending samples under a lot number to identify them. The result is Lot N°90 XO Ovation, Lot N°76 XO Tradition, Lot N°53 XO Perfection and Lot N°29 XO Exception.

Lot N°53 XO Perfection is a blend of eaux de vie made exclusively from Grande Champagne, and crafted from Ugni Blanc, for tension and vivacity, and CoLombard for roundness and aromaticity. All wines are distilled with the lees, to obtain eaux de vie with greater body, elegance and persistence. They are then aged in French Limousin oak barrels for over two generations. They will stay in the "Paradis", this timeless cellar where the oldest eaux de vie date back to Abel's private collection Tesseron.

This Cognac presents a topaz mahogany color. Its rich nose opens with plum, fig and chocolate; then evolves into fruit Secs, tobacco, leather and toasted wood notes, the result of decades of aging. The palate is round, opulent even, full of life, and melts into dark cocoa, honey and fresh herbs, punctuated by pepper and spices. The finish is long, elegant, flavorful and leaves a refreshing sensation.

Drink this Cognac Lot N°53 Perfection with small game, such as a mallard duck à la cocotte, or accompanied by a semi-cooked goose foie gras and its onion compote.
