This uncomplicated wooden drum lampshade is made from coiled steam bent oak or walnut wood. Inspired by the clinker boats made using traditional steam bending methods in Cornwall, Tom Raffield designed this light to be simple and honest, and a testament to the beauty of the natural materials and methods used to craft the wooden lampshade.

Tom Raffield grew up surrounded by the extreme wilderness, tranquility and natural beauty of Exmoor, England, instilling in him a love of nature and natural materials. His fascination with the traditional practice of steam bending began while studying at Falmouth College of Arts. Years later, Tom has his own company through which he creates spectacular, ecologically sound, innovative furniture and lighting.
