About the Designer

Sierra Yip-Bannicq is a Brooklyn-based Industrial designer. She received her Bachelors in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute. Having grown up in Indonesia and China, traveling and exploring new places is in her blood and has always been a source of inspiration for her design work. Over the past few years Sierra's work has become increasingly material-driven. She is currently working on incorporating new materials and production methods into her work to broaden her design palette and push the creative bounds of her designs. Recent projects have involved concrete, polyfoam, cast aluminum, stoneware and 3D printed plastics. Presently Sierra runs a ceramic-based studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn, where she produces handcrafted pieces.
