Product Description

Wellington Vineyards is owned Peter Wellington. Peter's father John purchased the winery site in 1986, and at the time, it consisted of just 20 acres of old vines and a few decrepit old fruit and nut trees. The estate vineyards now consist of 21 acres, 8 of which are 85 to 117 years old. There are 24 different varieties in the old vineyard, with the most common being Zinfandel, Carignan, Alicante Bouschet, Grenache and Syrah. In addition, there are 10 acres of eleven to sixteen year old vines that consist of Merlot, Chardonnay, Marsanne, and Syrah.

This particular 2009 Wellington Vineyards Victory Reserve is dark, and youthful in color, with dominant dark fruit aromas like black cherry, blueberry, and cassis, with strong notes of cocoa/mocha and licorice. It also features notes of cedar, mint, sandalwood, violets, olive, leather, and cinnamon - something new with every swirl and sniff. It offers a supple entry, and soft, rich tannins, with a long clean finish. Concentrated and elegant at the same time.

Since 1931, Vella Cheese has been a companion to the finest foods in the world. As an ingredient, sprinkled on top, or served alongside the full fresh flavor and smooth creamy texture of Vella Cheese is guaranteed to satisfy. This Special Select Dry Monterey Jack has all the same qualities as the traditional Dry Jack, but is aged a minimum of one year and up to two years. Special Select has a firmer texture than Vella's traditional Dry Jack due to its extra aging, but it is well worth the effort. It especially complements the flavor of fruits and wine and is excellent with pasta entrées. The possibilities are as endless as your imagination.
