The original Islay. The pioneer. Bowmore was the first licensed Islay distillery. It has stood on the shores of Lochindaal, a sea loch opening out into the wild Atlantic Ocean, since 1779. To this day, their single malt whisky is meticulously handcrafted in traditional ways that honor the origin of whisky-making techniques. This care and attention to detail create the unique and timeless house style and unparalleled single malts that age like no other on Islay.

Bowmore invests more time than necessary at every stage of the process. They have their own proprietary malt barns, hand-turning the barley day and night and allowing for perfectly timed fermentation periods. They take their time to hand-select each cask, nosing every single one before it is filled with their new make. This care and attention to detail is what creates the complex balance of not just smoke, but also maritime minerality and fresh stone fruit notes which is so characteristic of our timeless house style.

Bowmore 25 Year is a joyful union of delicious toffee and hazelnut, bound together by sweet peat smoke. This whisky is meant to be savored slowly. Every delicious drop of this exquisitely balanced malt has been matured for a quarter of a century in North American bourbon and Spanish sherry casks. Exceptional even by Bowmore's standards, this highly acclaimed scotch exhibits the finest qualities of each.
