When 4th generation winemaker Laurent Mouton took charge of his family estate in Givry, he brought his personal sense of perfection. From temperature regulation during fermentation to every stage of aging, Mouton’s goal remains the same: let the terroir speak for itself.

The Premier Cru Clos Jus is no different. One of the finest plots in Burgundy’s Cote Chalonnaise, the sandstone and limestone soils along the southern slopes of these hills ripen intense Pinot Noir. Luxuriously warm and lingering summers here give Laurent the raw materials to produce this singular wine at an amazing price.

In a throwback to what Burgundy winemakers themselves drink, this ruby gem features cherry aromas, bay leaf, baking spice, and glimmers of forest floor and river stone. It’s as close to actually having a glass with Laurent as we’re likely to get any time soon.
