Huge Future World Map // Version 1

This extra large version of the Future World Map uses a striking color gradient to intentionally blur the lines of traditional maps, offering a view of what political borders, populations, elevations, sea depths, and tectonic shifts might look like in the future. Featuring metallic seas and gloss-varnished landmasses in sublime shades, the paper version of this map is printed on the highest-quality, FSC-approved silk-coated paper, but it is also available in a plastic gloss finish that can be written on and wiped off like a whiteboard, and a magnetic metal version that can hold notes or photos, like a refrigerator door.

Each print is made using a lithographic printing process that works like a mechanized version of traditional screen printing. A plate is made for each color and then laid down individually, creating a stunning effect with maximum definition and impact. A sealer is applied to protect the inks and gloss UV varnish is used to add contrast and highlight boundaries.
