FAQ
Is the spot that collects from high heat wood burning fires able to be cleaned off? Does the red pigment remain when the soot is removed?

Soot will collect on it. Evenly at first, then start sloughing off randomly. You can clean the soot off, but it is better to just let the soot build up and fall off naturally. The red Pigment is high-heat so it will last for a long time but might burn away someday depending on how often it is used and how hot the fires are.
