Volcanic glass - also known as the obsidian stone - was a great inspiration for the pre-Columbian cultures of Mexico. It has always been present in spiritual practices such as rituals, art, war, cooking and, of course, jewelry. During pre-Hispanic times, it helped to promote the economy in ancient communities as it was used by all social hierarchies.

That fusion of society, culture and natural phenomena has been artfully represented here, with the Polished Amethyst + Obsidian Ring. Made by hand, this carved, black obsidian piece has been topped with real polished Amethyst, creating an utterly distinctive piece, not unlike those worn by ancient royalty.
