Product Description
Artist T Barny carved ERIT while attending the Northwest Stone Sculptor’s Association Carving Camp on Mount Vernon in California. He gave chips of the Utah Calcite away to kids who toured the camp – and made sure they didn’t eat any, as chips of Utah Calcite look like candy. It is a Mobius strip form, with a point on the inside.
T Barny's works are produced through a method of direct carving, which entails no preconceived notions or models from which to derive the final shape of his pieces. Instead, he allows the natural rhythms of the materials he uses to guide him to a final product. Abstraction is his fascination, and power tools are his forte. He makes use of negative space as much as positive body, establishing an affinity with each piece he carves and evoking a feeling as sublime as the pieces themselves.
