Seymchan Iron Meteorite v2 // Self Standing
Product Description
A double-thick miniature monolith of extraterrestrial iron! The Seymchan meteorite is a spectacular remnant of an early proto-planet in our Solar System. The complex crystalline Widmanstätten patterns in metal can only be created in the vacuum of space, where molten iron slowly cooled over billions of years. Standing on its own, this interior slice of the Seymchan meteorite is certain to inspire wonder wherever it lands.

FAQ
The material list does not provide a "meteor" option. The Widmansttten pattern, a crystallization of iron that occurs in this form when molten iron cools extremely slowly in the vacuum of space, acts as a "thumbprint" for Iron meteorites. Seymchan has a very distinguishable pattern that would be nearly impossible to replicate. There are instances of Widmansttten patterns in contemporary metallurgy, but they are very small crystals compared to their extraterrestrial occurrences where the cooling occurs over millions to billions of years in microgravity.
