Artist Deborah Sahvlik uses a combination of needle and wet felting similar to the process of tattooing to work this effect. It's a handcrafted artisan detail that brings the look and touch of this pillow to another level of luxe.

Deborah Shavlik

Brooklyn based artist and industrial designer Deborah Shavlik started her line of soft but edgy home furnishings and accessories in 2011. After a dozen years designing lighting fixtures in corporate offices, both a creative shift and new materials to play with was needed. The majority of her line utilizes a felting process, which is similar to tattooing, and is created by combining natural fibers with wool and cashmere blend fabrics to create the softly subversive designs and iconography inspired by science and math as well as our natural world.
