About the Designer

Adina Jacobs and Ethan Nyholm

For Ethan Nyholm, the co-founder of STM, commuting to work in Bondi Beach Australia had some unique requirements. Carrying his laptop to-and-fro, organizing his electronic gear, transporting it all safely and comfortably - while not looking like he was working for the man. After his then co-worker and now co-founder of STM, Adina Jacobs learned of the bubble envelope and a hiking backpack solution, it was time for a new approach.

Flash forward to present day: Together Ethan and Adina use the same philosophy to design collections of sewn bags and fitted cases that protect, organize and carry the form factors of today’s most popular laptops, smartphones and tablets. Since 1998, their mission has been to provide a more comfortable, secure and stylish means to transport digital gear.
