Product Description

This specially curated collection of authentic, autographed memorabilia features art, photos, jerseys, game equipment and more from the legendary players and coaches of yesteryear— as well as a few more notable fans— who played a major role in making each game what it is today.
Jackie Robinson started his career in the Negro leagues as a second baseman. His talent on the field was second to none. In 1947, the Brooklyn Dodgers signed him, breaking the color barrier and making him the first black player in MLB history. Robinson excelled in the majors, winning the inaugural Rookie of the Year Award, the 1949 MVP and leading the Dodgers to their first World Series title in 1955. In that World Series, Jackie had made a play that he is still known for today: stealing home vs. the Yankees and Yogi Berra. Jackie was inducted to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962. In 1997, Jackie’s #42 was retired throughout Major League Baseball. Jackie remains the only baseball player to have received that honor.
