The Staub cast iron Round Cocotte is specially made in France with sand casted molds. Each piece is sanded, polished, and painted with three coats of superheated enamel so that the finish is chip- and scratch-resistant, and won't cause scratches on fine surfaces. Professional chefs prefer Staub cocottes because of their unique self basting lids. Small bumps under the lid create droplets of liquid from steam while roasting vegetables, or meats, so you get the perfect dish, every time.
