Colosseum Amfi is an oval dish by Christian Riis, a self-taught cabinet maker and owner Grounded Craftwork. The heart of Grounded Craftwork is unique furniture and wood accessories, and the Colosseum Amfi demonstrates why. This piece is a beautiful example of how perfectly wood lends itself to organic, elegant design.

Inspired by ancient architecture, Christian Riis has worked hard to refine the design so that it resembles a Roman amphitheater. After hand-selecting each piece of wood, the grooves are CNC milled to create a unique piece of woodwork. Subsequently, the edges are rounded, and finished to ensure the dish appears lightweight, while maintaining its robust construction.
