About the Designer

Remy Labesque is a San Francisco-based industrial designer. Since 2006 Remy has been with frog design in their San Francisco headquarters, where he helps to guide some of the world’s leading brands in bringing meaningful products to reality. Remy has experience working with key clients such as Disney, Honda, Honeywell, HP, Intel, Samsung and Sparse. He is a believer in designing through breaking, rethinking, and prototyping. His work has been featured in publications such as Forbes, Businessweek and Wired. He is also an avid cyclist both on-road and off.
Colin Owen is the CEO of Sparse. He was raised in the Deep South on a steady diet of trails, mischief, and tinkering. He became civilized (mostly) while studying architecture at Rice University and Art Center College of Design. Prior to Sparse, he served a diverse set of clients including Wireless Generation, Nokia, NASA, Nike, Intel, Biodesign, and Terrazign. In addition to heading up Sparse, he is an Assistant Professor at The California College of The Arts in San Francisco. In that position he founded the Urban Mobility Initiative, which examines civic transportation issues and makes bikes. When not careening through the streets of San Francisco or grinding up hills in the North Bay, he's brewing up the next batch of Sparse innovations.
