Shire Post Mint
Silver Daler of New DALE™
Product Description
"So snow comes after fire and even dragons have their ending!"
This large Silver Daler, struck in 1 troy ounce of .999 pure silver, was minted 100 years after Bard the Bowman killed the tyrant Smaug. Bard was accorded a 1/4 share of Smaug's hoard in silver, so it is fitting that the centennial Daler for the Death of Smaug be made from from silver recovered from the hoard. The coin shows a masterfully engraved scene with the archer and the dragon above a burning building. On the reverse is The Lonely Mountain and the town of New Dale that Bard helped to establish.
The engraver spent an incredible 340 hours creating the intricate images. The text is inscribed in Tengwar.
