The Kuro-uchi Utility is so versatile it can be used both as a main, multi-purpose knife, as well as a utility knife for smaller tasks. It is a mid-sized kitchen knife suitable for all sorts of cutting tasks. Kuro-uchi series knives are traditional Japanese rustic knives and suitable for the first purchase of a traditional Japanese knife.

The blade is forged in SUJ-2 steel, which offers incredible capacities while remaining very easy to resharpen. The name of kuro-uchi refers to the final look of the blade, which is unprocessed on the top and has already developed dark patina, which protects the blade.

The handle is made from durable walnut wood, while the ferrule is made of black laminated pakka wood. The handle is octagonal shaped, so it will fit well into the hands of both right- and left-handed users.
