The additional Ceramic Sharpening Rod is made of high-grade 1200 grit ceramic, a material close in hardness to diamond, making it wear-resistant, light in weight and rust-proof. The sharpening rod hones and realigns your knife edge quickly and easily - it is long enough to hone most any knife in your block, from a small chef's knife to large butchering knife.

Unlike a traditional sharpener, a honing rod is used by professionals after each and every use to roll the edge back to its original position and keep it at the ideal angle for maximum sharpness.
