The steel used in this Mammoth Molar + Onyx Santoku Kitchen Knife comes from Japan and is called “Sanmai Damascus” or sandwich damascus. There is a core of vg-10 steel with 16 layers of stainless steel on each side to produce a rust-free Damascus look blade, and its handle is the most incredible part of it all. Onyx is sleek and gorgeous, and its mammoth bone is an incredible fossil from the historic era of these gentle giants.
