Product Description
A blue glazed faience shown in mummiform, with details in black pigment, wearing a filet over a tripartite wig, with accented eyes and eyebrows, the arms crossed over chest, each hand holding painted hoe and large seed basket on the back. Single vertical column of inscription on front reads “The Osiris, the songstress of Amun, Taoudjatre, true of voice."
Condition: Loss to nose professionally restored, some firing cracks and glaze imperfections. Otherwise, intact and in very good condition overall. On custom 1950s mount.
Provenance: Acquired from Susette Khayat, Ancient Arts Gallery, 5th Ave, New York City, in the 1950s.
