Metamorphosis of Narcissus, 1937
Product Description
According to Greek Mythology, Narcissus fell in love with his own reflection in a pool of water and the gods immortalized him as a flower. In Dali's Metamorphosis of Narcissus, c.1937, Narcissus' form is immortalized in a stone mirror image which also doubles as an optical illusion of a hand holding an egg from which a Narcissus grows.

About the Designer
Spanish artist Salvador Dalí (1904 – 1989) was a groundbreaking icon of the Surrealist movement and one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. Extraordinarily imaginative, he also sculpted, and contributed to fashion, photography and theater. His surreal paintings are characterized by a refined sense of light and space often attributed to his study of Renaissance master works. In contemporary art, Dalí is now a master of his own movement.
