About the Designer

The company’s roots stem from two graphic designers, Ines Brito and Joana Gouveia. While living in vibrant Barcelona, the duo discovered the ability of transforming the famous ribbed, jersey fabric of their native Portugal into interesting and original neckware. They value re-use as a primary principle, and their designs are inspired by the diverse and sensual style of Barcelona. This unity of elements has provided Saako a wholly unique fashion aesthetic.

Both designers are recipients of numerous awards in fashion and graphic design, and Saako items have been featured at the Tate museum in London, as well as in VOGUE magazine.
