Do they shrink?

The 100% cotton shirts, which this shirt is, will shrink some.

Will washing in cold water help the colors not fade and minimize the shrinking?

The shirt is printed on the reverse side, so as not to worry about fading.
These are 100% cotton and not pre-shrunk so you can expect some shrinking. Coldwater may reduce the amount it shrinks.

What type of fit is it?

They are a classic fit, and not slim at all. Some find they can safely size down if desiring a smaller fit.
