This Ulysse Nardin GMT Perpetual Calendar chronometer is a case study in luxury watchmaking. The splendid 18K rose gold case measures a generous 42 mm in diameter and rests upon a black leather strap with a deployant buckle. Other features include a 30 m / 3 atm water resistance, a push/pull crown, a transparent case back that allows one to see the workings of the movement, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
This dashing timepiece possesses a self-winding automatic movement and is driven by Ulysse Nardin’s Cal. 13 1/4” UN-32 with 34 jewels. The black-colored dial showcases an intriguing guilloche patten, intriguing luminescent hands and markers, and large Arabic numerals at 12, 3, and 6 o’clock. There is a small seconds counter at 9 o’clock, perpetual calendar functions that include the day, date, month, and year, and a convenient second time zone function that can be read via a slim arrow-tipped center hand and hours upon the inner bezel.
