This Romain Jerome Liberty-DNA Black timepiece is a tasteful, visionary celebration of the Statue of Liberty that contains actual fragments from the Statue within its dial. In fact, Romain Jerome collaborated with the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation on the creation of only 125 of these watches. As a limited-edition timepiece, it can be difficult to obtain. The Liberty-DNA Black possesses a mechanical self-winding automatic movement and is driven by the RJ001-A caliber with 23 jewels, 28,800 vph, and a 42-hour power reserve. The totally unique Black PVD-coated stainless steel case features a fixed Black PVD-coated bronze bezel that recalls Lady Liberty’s crown and takes the place of hour markers.
The case measures 46 mm in diameter and rests upon a black hornback leather strap with a deployant buckle. Features a screw-down case back engraved with an image of Lady Liberty’s torch, a screw-down crown, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and a water resistance to 30 m / 3 atm. The minimal and subtle gray lacquered dial contains actual metal fragments from the Statue of Liberty. In addition, the RJ logo is discreetly positioned at 12 o’clock and there are tasteful black facetted and polished hands.
