This Romain Jerome Liberty-DNA timepiece is a tasteful, visionary celebration of the Statue of Liberty that contains actual fragments from the Statue within its dial. In fact, Romain Jerome collaborated with the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation on the creation of only 125 of these watches. As a limited-edition timepiece, it can be difficult to obtain. The Liberty-DNA possesses a mechanical self-winding automatic movement and is driven by the RJ001-A caliber with 23 jewels, 28,800 vph, and a 42-hour power reserve. The totally unique Black PVD-coated stainless steel case features a fixed bronze star-like bezel that recalls Lady Liberty’s crown and takes the place of hour markers; furthermore, it will develop a fascinating patina over time, just like the statue.
The case measures 46 mm in diameter and rests upon a brown alligator leather strap with a push-button deployant clasp. Features a screw-down case back engraved with an image of Lady Liberty’s torch, a screw-down crown, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and a water resistance to 30 m / 3 atm. The minimal and subtle verdigris dial contains actual metal fragments from the Statue of Liberty along with tasteful bronze hands.
