Login for PriceProduct Description
In 1916, to meet the military needs of the Royal Italian Navy, Officine Panerai created Radiomir, a radium-based powder that gives luminosity to the dials of sighting instruments and devices. Only 1500 of these limited edition Radiomir Panerai S.L.C.s — which stand for Siluro a Lenta Corsa, or "Slow-Running Torpedo," a reference to the so-called "human torpedoes" the Royal Italian Navy used during WWII — were ever made, making them an invaluable collector's item. This model boasts a mechanical manual wind movement, and a stainless case with "S.L.C." engraved on its bezel.
Appraised at $8,700.
