Product Description

This jaw-dropping collection from RARE-T features a staggering array of authentic artifacts, antiques, meteorites, oddities, skulls, and cruelty-free taxidermy from various eras in history, in rare and luxury form. Each one was acquired in accordance with the import restrictions on archaeological material, in order to reduce the incentive for pillage and trafficking of illegal antiquities.

This custom museum display showcases an Authentic Pure Gold bearing Quartz which was found in the Sierra Mining District of Northern California. The gold was formed in quartz deposits such as this, and only if/when erosion took place, veins of gold would break out into the rivers and form individual gold nuggets or gold flake. The gold still left in the quartz is now referred to as 'gold bearing quartz', or 'gold lode' by ol'time prospectors.

An extensive series of north- to northwest- and occasionally northeast-trending quartz veins range from a few feet to as much as 40 feet in thickness. The veins occur in all of the metamorphic rocks. The ore bodies contain free gold, pyrite, and minor galena and chalcopyrite. The ore shoots often were large (up to 300 feet long and several thousand feet deep) and usually averaged 1/3 to 1/2 ounce of gold per ton. Much high-grade ore was taken from the district.

The Sierra Buttes mine was opened in 1850, and most of the other important lode mines soon afterward. A number of very rich high-grade surface pockets were discovered, including one at the Four Hills mine. The district was highly productive from about 1870 until 1914. There was some mining activity again during the 1920s and 1930s, and intermittent prospecting and development work has continued until the present time. The value of the total output of the district is unknown, but it is estimated to be at least $30 million.

It's protected under plexiglass in a custom museum display to keep it looking pristine, ensuring protection of your investment while allowing you to fully appreciate this piece of collectible ancient history. The customized descriptive metallic plaque, in addition to the detailed finishing, add to the elegant and sophisticated, gallery-quality aesthetic. Complete with a certificate of authenticity, this piece is an exciting investment that will only get better with age.
