This custom museum display showcases an absolute masterpiece- an authentic POLYCHROME GOD HORUS LOCK USHABTI TOMB STATUE DATING FROM 1200 BC, PART OF THE 19TH DYNASTY. THIS ANCIENT EGYPTIAN TOMB STATUE FEATURES A MUMMIFORM DECORATED IN SEVERAL COLORS (POLYCHROME) USHABTI. This ancient Egyptian tomb statue features a finely carved ushabti in mummiform, wearing a broad collar necklace and wig with t he sidelock of youth (also called a Horus lock, Prince's lock, Princess' lock, or side braid). It was an identifying characteristic of the child in Ancient Egypt. It symbolically indicates that the wearer is a legitimate heir of Osiris, the god of life, death, the flooding of the Nile and the afterlife . The sidelock was used as a divine attribute from at least as early as the Old Kingdom (2686–2181 BC). They are worn by both mortal and divine children.

The face is beautifully defined with incised mouth, and large almond shaped eyes. The arms are crossed on the chest, hands protruding to hold the Ankh in one (symbol for life and to revive human souls in the afterlife), and the other a Djed (one of the more ancient symbols in ancient Egyptian religion. It is a pillar-like symbol representing stability. It is associated with the god Osiris. It is commonly understood to represent his spine.)

A vertical band of painted hieroglyphic inscriptions cover the lower chest and legs (usually a passage from the Book of the Dead).

Ushabti figures were placed in ancient Egyptian tombs in order to serve the deceased in the afterlife. They hold objects (in this case the Ankh and Djed) that they will use to work.

It's protected under plexiglass in a custom museum display to keep it looking pristine, ensuring protection of your investment while allowing you to fully appreciate this piece of collectible ancient history.
