This custom museum display showcases an authentic Hongshan Burial Jade statue dating from the 4700-2900 BC from the Chinese Neolithic Era. This ancient Hongshan tomb statue features a beautifully carved human skeleton - It has been suggested that religious sacrifice might have been performed within the discovered underground temple complex - which included an altar.

Hongshan burial artifacts include some of the earliest known examples of jade working.
The Hongshan culture was a Neolithic culture in northeastern China. Hongshan sites have been found in an area stretching from Inner Mongolia to Liaoning, and dated from 4700 to 2900 BC.

The culture is named after Hongshanhou, a site in Hongshan District, Chifeng. The Hongshanhou site was discovered in 1908 and extensively excavated in 1935.

Suggested by evidence found at early Yangshao culture sites, Hongshan culture sites also provide the earliest evidence for feng shui. The presence of both round and square shapes at Hongshan culture ceremonial centers suggests an early presence of the gaitian cosmography ("round heaven, square earth"). Early feng shui relied on astronomy to find correlations between humans and the universe.

Hongshan culture is believed to have exerted an influence on the development of early Chinese civilization. The culture may also have contributed to the development of settlements in ancient Korea.

It's protected under plexiglass in a custom museum display to keep it looking pristine, ensuring protection of your investment while allowing you to fully appreciate this piece of collectible ancient history. The customized descriptive metallic plaque, in addition to the detailed finishing, add to the elegant, gallery quality look.
