This custom museum display showcases an authentic faience Anput statue dating from the Late Period of ancient Egypt 380 BC–343 BC.This ancient Egyptian tomb statue features a beautiful stone carved Anput statue depicted here in human female form wearing the jackal headdress, with a long tripartite wig and broad collar necklace. The face is rendered in nice detail with eyes, snout and mouth in relief. It also has and a vertical band of carved hieroglyphs adorning her front torso. Probably the most notable example is that of the triad of Menkaure, Hathor and Anput.
Anput is a goddess in ancient Egyptian religion. Her name is also rendered Anupet, Input, Inpewt and Yineput - The female version of the name of her husband, Anubis. ("t" is the feminine ending and Anubis was known as Anpu or Inpu to the Egyptians). She is the goddess of funerals and mummification, as well as the mother of Kebechet and possibly Ammit.
She is also a goddess of the seventeenth nome of Upper Egypt.She is also considered the protector of Osiris' body.
