Chances are you've already stumbled upon the term "Bushido." It roughly translates to "The Way of the Warrior" and is most often used in regard to the code of the samurai. Bushido Whisky has taken it upon themselves to practice the very same 7 ideals as a way of paying homage to rich Japanese tradition while showing exactly how much the Japanese Whisky masters have to offer.
The term "Meiyo" stands for "honor"—one of the 7 virtues of the samurai and a perfect virtue for the Meiyo Pure Malt 15YO Japanese Whisky to embody. Distilled in the famous Kumesen Distillery from Okinawa, this 2020 edition comes in pure malt form and is aged in ex-Bourbon casks.
Tasting Notes
— Color: Medium amber.
— Aroma: Woody but tropical as well.
— Palate: Heavy oak with lasting tropical fruit, especially pineapple.
— Finish: Super smooth finish with little to no burn.
