Since the 1980s the use of high-tech ceramic has been an important feature of Rado watches. In a patented process used by Rado, plasma high-tech ceramic is forged in an oven at high temperatures. Gases activated at 20,000°C transform finished white ceramic into a unique material with an otherworldly metallic shine – but without the use of any metal. In a process akin to modern alchemy, the color of the ceramic in the Rado Ceramica Chronograph is transformed without affecting its essential properties: lightness, hardness and wearer comfort. It's an incredible use of material for an equally impressive watch.
